At the Locker Room we are redefining the gym standard. We are a gym that values hard work
and prioritizes autonomy in your gym experience. We’ve been part of this industry for 20+
years and have tried a few different iterations of the group fitness model and personal training.
We’ve ultimately decided that personal training & the group fitness model had us feeling like
we abandoned our CORE values that we believe are foundational for long term success in the
health, wellness, and fitness space:
AUTONOMY. SUSTAINABILITY. EFFICIENCY.
AUTONOMY -
We want our members to be confident and comfortable in the gym. Much of
that has to do with facility lay out, and prioritizing certain spaces for certain styles of training.
Additionally, some of that has to do with training plans and year long calendars of training. We
want to offer our community BOTH. We want to give access to training tracks that we have
written ourselves and currently follow, that we know work and provide benefit while
maintaining AUTONOMY as far as gym usage, guidance, and structure.
SUSTAINABILITY-
We want to make fitness like brushing your teeth - something you do every
single day in varying styles, approaches, & capacities. Whether you want to undertake a year
long training cycle or something more moderate we can offer you a guided ‘plan’ that
maximizes bang-for-buck (EFFECIENCY). If you are brand new to the gym scene and feel
overwhelmed by all the shiny things we have a 3 day per week ‘plan’ that is machine based so
you can get your sea-legs underneath you and begin to feel more confident & AUTONOMOUS
in the gym.
EFFICIENCY-
One trap that we've run into as we've been training in this capacity for nearly 20
years, (I know some of you can relate) is trying to figure out how to fit it ALL in. ALL of the
things that helped develop your fitness over the years - How do I now fit it all into a training
regimen that doesn’t take me 3 hours to complete, 7 days per week? We have come to the
conclusion in recent years that it is an unwinnable battle! There is no longer infinite time. So…
the trick then is to know and determine what helps, and discard what takes up too much time
and doesn’t yield enough result. We are always looking for and striving for bang for buck within
all of our training models.
